SHED in Healdsburg is one of my favorite shops. I learned about it from my sister-in-law, Alice. From her vacation in Healdsburg, she sent me a message that said "I found a shop that is so completely you — you would love everything in it!". When I finally had the chance to visit, lo-and-behold Alice stood correct! I loved the building, the food, and everything from the select choice of children's books, gardening tools, and cookware, to the lollipops with adorable designs in the middle (which I must mention both my kids flipped over!). Next time I visit, I will write a blog post on their chocolate selection alone — they have so many beautifully packaged chocolates. What I did taste (DANDELION) was exquisite. They are also on my list of places to blog about so check back soon.
While I was there, I was lucky enough to meet one of the owners, Cindy Daniel, who was as lovely as her shop. Dressed in various shades of blue and white, she had an air of quiet confidence and sophistication. And what came across as a love for her life. Wonderful!
The shop is packed with so many lovely things, yet it feels so airy and stress-free and much of that is due to the way it is "curated", because of the way the building is designed to let in sunlight, and the graphic vocabulary sewn throughout SHED. If you have been intrigued by what I have written so far, you must take a look here at JENSEN ARCHITECTS. Such a great peak into the creation of SHED. And you must also look here at BOON DESIGN — the design behind the graphics for SHED. So simple. So clean. So perfect. Thank you Brian Scott and your team for creating this stunning work.
Have a wonderful day!
